Plain English

Kaspa is a proof-of-work L1 launched in 2021, using the GhostDAG protocol — blocks form a directed acyclic graph (DAG) rather than a linear chain, enabling 1 block per second (sometimes faster) while keeping PoW security. KAS is the native coin.

How it actually works

GhostDAG allows multiple parallel blocks instead of one at a time, with conflict resolution based on the “heaviest” subgraph rather than longest chain. Mining uses the kHeavyHash algorithm (ASIC-mineable). No premine, no team allocation, fair launch — a small but loyal Bitcoin-adjacent community.

What it means for you

KAS is a niche fair-launch PoW play with cult-following. For HNW positioning, it is the most credible “next-gen Bitcoin” alternative outside of LTC/BCH. Volatile, lightly liquid relative to top-tier coins; size accordingly.
