Plain English

Celestia is a data-availability-focused L1 launched in 2023. TIA is the native token. Its purpose: provide cheap, scalable DA for rollups and modular chains that don’t need their own consensus or execution.

How it actually works

Celestia uses Tendermint consensus with data availability sampling — light clients verify data availability without downloading entire blocks. TIA is paid for blob space by rollups posting their transaction data. Major adopters: Manta, Eclipse, multiple gaming chains.

What it means for you

TIA is the leading bet on modular-blockchain infrastructure. For HNW positioning, the thesis is that rollups continue proliferating and DA becomes the bottleneck — which Ethereum addressed via EIP-4844 blobs but Celestia targets natively. Stake TIA for ~10–15% native yield.
