Plain English

Solflare is one of the original Solana wallets, dating back to Solana’s mainnet launch in 2020. Browser extension and mobile app. Solana-native (no other chains supported), with strong staking and SOL ecosystem integration.

How it actually works

Self-custody with seed-phrase backup. Native support for Solana staking, SPL tokens, NFTs, and liquid staking via various providers (Jito, Marinade). Ledger hardware wallet integration. Less consumer polish than Phantom but very Solana-deep.

What it means for you

Solflare is the longtime favorite for Solana power-users — particularly validators, stakers, and users running heavy on-chain activity. For a smoother consumer experience, Phantom wins. For deep Solana ecosystem participation, Solflare’s longer history and Solana-only focus appeals to some users.
