Plain English

CoinList is a regulated token sale and crypto investment platform launched in 2017, originally as a spinoff from AngelList. Has hosted some of the largest crypto token sales (Filecoin, Solana, Mina, Flow, Algorand). Requires KYC and accredited investor status for many sales.

How it actually works

Token sales through CoinList typically involve lockups (1-3 year vesting). KYC is mandatory; US users must usually be accredited investors. CoinList also operates a small CEX (CoinList Pro) for secondary trading of post-sale tokens. Strong on regulatory compliance compared to many launchpads.

What it means for you

For HNW accredited investors, CoinList is one of the few regulated paths to early-stage token investments. Trade-offs: long lockups, no guarantee of returns (many CoinList tokens have underperformed), and the platform takes significant fees. Treat as venture-style allocation, not trading.
