Plain English

Keystone is an air-gapped hardware wallet, formerly Cobo Vault. Current generations: Keystone 3 Pro ($169), Keystone Essential. Communication exclusively via QR codes — the device never connects via USB or Bluetooth.

How it actually works

4-inch color touchscreen, fingerprint sensor, self-destruct on tamper. Open-source firmware. Multi-chain support including Bitcoin, Ethereum, all major L2s, Solana, Cosmos, and others. PSBT-style QR signing workflow integrates with MetaMask, Rabby, Sparrow, and other wallets.

What it means for you

Keystone is the air-gapped choice for users who want full hardware isolation but with modern multi-chain support. Better UX than Coldcard for non-Bitcoin chains. For HNW users serious about cold storage who also use DeFi (signing Aave/Morpho positions, etc.), Keystone is one of the cleanest devices for that combination.
