Ronin Network is an Ethereum sidechain originally launched by Sky Mavis for Axie Infinity in 2021. Now an open EVM gaming chain hosting Axie, Pixels, Apeiron, Wild Forest, and other games. RON is the native token. Suffered the $625M Ronin Bridge hack in 2022 — the largest crypto hack in history at the time.

How it actually works

Proof-of-Stake with delegated validators selected by RON stakers. Low fees, high throughput. Post-hack, security architecture was rebuilt with broader validator set and Chainlink CCIP-based bridging. RON staking provides yield from network fees and emissions.
