ARCIPEDIA · PLATFORM · NFT

Plain English

Foundation is a curated NFT marketplace launched in 2021, focused on digital art. Artists are invited or vetted before they can list. Strong reputation in the generative art and high-end digital art communities. Slower volume than OpenSea but higher per-piece values.

How it actually works

15% marketplace fee on primary sales (higher than competitors), 5% on secondary. Auction-based listings dominate. Artists keep 10% royalties on secondary sales (Foundation enforces them). The platform tends toward fewer, higher-quality pieces rather than mass collectibles.

What it means for you

For HNW collectors of curated digital art, Foundation’s vetting process surfaces higher-quality work than OpenSea’s open market. Higher fees pay for the curation. Pair with SuperRare for the highest-end “fine art” digital collecting.
