How it actually works
“Data NFTs” let data owners monetize access without giving up custody. Compute-to-Data lets buyers run ML training on private data without seeing it. Used by some enterprise data initiatives for AI training. Now part of broader ASI Alliance after merger.
What it means for you
Ocean’s thesis — that data has monetary value distinct from its content — is compelling but slow to materialize commercially. Post-merger, exposure is via FET token. For HNW positioning, this is a small allocation in the AI crypto basket rather than a primary bet.
